More than 100 countries (per Brookings), and thousands of schools worldwide require the teaching of Competencies, often known as “21st Century Skills,” “4C’s,” “Social-Emotional Learning (SEL),” “Portrait of a Graduate,” or “Learner Profile.”
These Competencies, however, are not deliberately, systematically, comprehensively, or demonstrably embedded into classroom instruction.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) only complicates the conversation. Are the Competencies helped or hindered by AI? If so, which ones and how? Sitting at the intersection of the education and AI worlds, this Summit will discuss and explore concrete, research-backed ideas for educators and schools.

Beyond Education is co-hosting the first annual international AI & Competencies in Education (ACE) Summit in partnership with the Center for Curriculum Redesign (CCR). The goal is to refocus education on a holistic approach to youth development that is critically needed in the current and future age of AI.
The 2024 edition of this summit analyzes the consequences of AI’s rapid advancements on learning, employability, life, and the value of modern knowledge. ACE deep dives into clarifying the value of 21st Century Competencies, augmented and supported by AI.
We are very excited to present, as speakers, renowned thought leaders, and doers at the intersection of education and AI. They will provoke reflections and offer practical recommendations for the future of education.
